The Middle Magic
Many of our customers do not use a power feeder when working with the shaper. We have, for some
time, wanted to design a shaper hold down device that also functions as
a partial barrier between the operator and the cutter. Enter The Middle Magic. Constructed of UHMW-PE with custom, made in the USA springs, The Middle Magic can
also be used by customers that have power feeders, as it is very easy to remove. The Middle Magic can be used for a
variety of shaper applications. Most often with larger or longer wood parts. However, it can also be very useful
for some smaller part applications as can be seen on our video. The Middle Magic is adaptable to most shapers. We

parts, you must have the fence worked into the cutter as shown below so
that the part will be supported in addition to the bearing, or the part

While working with the shaper and other woodworking equipment can be dangerous, our preliminary discussions with
potential customers seem to indicate a general agreement that it is "always a good idea" to have something between
the cutter and the operator.
The spring pressure of The Middle Magic will almost alwaysc improve the quality of the cut obtained over the quality
of the cut obtained by simple hand feeding alone.
Although safety is always the responsibility of the operator, The Middle Magic will function as a shaper safety
device when used properly.
